Airing My Dirty Laundry.

To date, I've been successful keeping things relatively tidy and clean - but I am having an issue with running gear.

I go for a run and then need to put up with it until I do laundry. To make things worse...it's right next to my head when I sleep.

It's to the point that I'm contemplating strapping a plastic pail to the roof to keep it in - I'm not sure what else I could do. Ideas?

  1. Does Walden have a tow hitch? you could get a box for the tow hitch and store your stinkables in there til laundry day, a little more secure and permanent than the bucket....I also soak my running gear with some water and some shaved off pieces of sunlight soap, (the bar kind) when I'm travelling and its seems to keep my stuff as fresh as a daisy ;p

  2. Lay it out in the sun on the dash? I've been told UV can kill the stinkiness. Or look at special treated running gear that is treated to not stink? Maybe Febreeze?

  3. I've heard that UV can kill bacteria also. I do try to sun things when I have a chance (if only to dry them). I also am taking to bathing in my running gear (in rivers etc). It helps...but then i'm stuck with a bunch of wet clothes. I think I'm going to get a plastic sheet and make a makeshift clothes line in the back for when I'm not using it (currently using the two built in clothes hooks). For the shoes, I'm going to get some deodorant....I do a lot of slogging through swamps/mud etc, so they may be a lost cause.
